Expertise
During the past few years, AV&R Vision & Robotics has specialized in two distinct areas of expertise:
- Robotic Finishing such as deburring, profiling, polishing and blending / tri-blend;
- Automated Visual Inspection in two dimensions (2D) and in three dimensions (3D).
AV&R stays in front of the competition in Robotic Finishing with high levels of precision and repeatability. These levels are reached thanks to the combination of vision and robotics. The precision of AV&R's Robotic Finishing solutions is of ± 50 microns (± 2 thousandths of an inch).
As for AV&R's Automated Visual Inspection solutions, the machine vision systems offer a high resolution which allows to discriminate surface defects of a minimal dimension of 100 by 100 microns (4 thousandths of an inch) and a depth of 20 microns (0.8 thousandth of an inch).
These two areas of expertise were developed for gas turbine rotating parts (with or without coating) used in the aerospace and energy industries, which is now AV&R's core business.
