At its founding, AV&R Vision & Robotics had already been handling vision automation projects for 10 years as part of Walsh Automation Inc., an engineering firm specializing in general automation projects. In August 2000, Walsh Automation Inc. was acquired by Invensys, including the Vision & Robotics division. The business was known as Invensys Vision & Robotic before becoming part of AV&R Technologies in April 2005.
